Sam Herring, Vice President and General Manager, Intrepid by VitalSource
Sam Herring is vice president and general manager of Intrepid by VitalSource. Intrepid is the cohort learning platform that empowers organizations to solve critical business challenges through engaging and applied learning at scale. Sam has been a leader in corporate learning for over 20 years. He was CEO of Intrepid Learning Solutions, an industry-leading learning consulting and outsourcing company that was acquired by Xerox in 2015. Subsequently, Sam led the spin-out of Intrepid Learning, the collaborative learning technology business acquired by VitalSource in 2017. Under his leadership, the Intrepid business has won over 80 industry awards and attracted major global customers and partners such as Microsoft, UnitedHealthcare, Visa, Chick-fil-A, Deloitte and Cognizant. Sam is published in numerous workplace learning publications and is a frequent speaker at leading industry conferences, universities and corporations. He is past chairman of the board of directors of ATD, the world’s leading professional association for workplace learning and talent development. Amy Happ, Director of Leadership Development and Learning Innovation, Grant Thornton Advisors LLC
As director of leadership development at Grant Thornton Advisors LLC, Amy Happ oversees the firm’s leadership academy programs. She collaborates with the business and firm leadership to deliver leadership academies that create better business professionals capable of implementing strategy and solving clients’ business needs. Amy brings more than 20 years of instructional design, learning facilitation, project management, process improvement and department management experience to this position. Prior to Grant Thornton, Amy was senior vice president of Advantexe Learning Solutions where she oversaw the business leadership practice, designing and delivering custom leadership learning solutions for clients. And before that Amy was vice president of professional services at Richardson, a global sales training and consulting firm that customizes and delivers award-winning sales training. Over the years Amy has been certified in various assessments such as MBTI®’s FIRO-B®, Emotional Intelligence EQi 2.0®, Everything DiSC® and The Five Behaviors of a Cohesive Team® and Insights Discovery™.
